Railway management system discussed
UBTZ or Ulaanbaatar Railway announced 2022 as the “Year of Implementation of Integrated Management System”. Within this framework, a scientific, theoretical and practical conference was organized on Wednesday on the topic “Integrated management system in the railway transport industry”.
A total of 13 speakers participated in the conference and discussed their prepared presentations. In addition to UBTZ, researchers from the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Mongolian Railway SOE, Tavan Tolgoi Railway LLC, Zuunbayan Railway LLC, General Train Traffic Regulation Center and universities joined the discussion.
During the meeting, Professor N.Batnasan of the Business School of the National University of Mongolia gave an interesting presentation on “Long-term policy and the pressing problems of the development of the railway industry” and State Honored Economist, Doctor of Science G. Batkhurel presented a speech on “Modern trends in management”.
By implementing the integrated management system, UBTZ aims to improve the quality of its services and its competitiveness not only in the country but globally. In the near future, the railway carrier expects to implement a unified management system in all its affiliated enterprises and as of today, there are six enterprises that have adopted management standards and are certified, including Zuunkharaa Freight Wagon Repair Depot, Passenger Wagon Depot, Wagon Operation Depot, Darkhan Locomotive Depot, Energy and Water Supply Unit-1 and International Freight Forwarder Center.
In addition, within the framework of the cooperation plan between UBTZ and the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology until 2024, as of the third quarter of this year, 294 employees of all structural units were trained as trainers. Out of them, the best 125 employees have been trained by the Technical Policy and Standardization Department of UBTZ and are working under a comprehensive plan to ensure the implementation of management standards throughout the company.
