Beware of infectious diseases, National Center for Communicable Diseases warns
People of any age are at risk of getting sick from infectious diseases, especially young children who are more susceptible to diseases that are spread through the air or by contact. In this sense, the prevalence of hand, foot, and mouth disease, which is a blistering rash infection, is mainly recorded among children under the age of five, and this disease tends to increase in the spring season.
Therefore, the senior doctor of the Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases, N.Suvdmaa said that parents and guardians should be careful, take measures to prevent this disease, and follow the advice of professional organizations.
When asked about the symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease and the possibility of prevention, she reported, “Hand, foot, and mouth disease can affect people of any age because the source of the disease is the sick person. Any infectious disease is caused by the source of the disease. It is caused by the combination of three chains: the sick person, the susceptible body (the person who does not have the disease), and the route of transmission. Hand, foot, and mouth disease is more common in young children. This is because children have weak self-defense and need parental care. Any infectious diseases can be prevented by washing your hands in the correct sequence every time they get dirty. That is why the help and care of parents is essential for young children.”
Also, in the first three months of this year, a total of 507 cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease were registered nationwide.
