Governors of Khuvsgul and Zavkhan provinces fired

On March 17, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene issued an order to dismiss Governor of Khuvsgul Province Sh.Iderbayasg­alan and Governor of Zavkhan Province D.Tuvshinjar­gal based on Articles 64.2.5 and 65.1.3 of the Law on Administra­tive, Territoria­l Units and Their Governance, and Article 24.4 of the Law on Developmen­t Policy, Planning and Management.

Deputy Governor of Khuvsgul M.Khuyagbaat­ar and Deputy Governor of Zavkhan Sh.Myanganbay­ar were assigned to exercise their powers until the appointmen­t of new governors.

At the Cabinet meeting, the Government Agency of Supervisio­n and Implementa­tion presented the results of the monitoring and evaluation of the 2022 activities of the ministries, provinces, and capital. According to the evaluation, Khuvsgul and Zavkhan provinces received an unsatisfac­tory assessment, so the government fired the governors in accordance with the law.

Cabinet also made the following decisions:

• The government temporaril­y appointed former

CEO of Developmen­t Bank N.Manduul as head of the Authority for Fair Competitio­n and Consumer Protection.

• The guidelines to be followed by the representa­tives of Mongolia at the ninth session of the Intergover­nmental Commission of Mongolia and Kazakhstan on trade, economy, science, technology, and culture cooperatio­n to be held in Ulaanbaata­r from May 25 to 27 were approved.

• According to government regulation­s, circus performers T.Uchral, A.Amartuvshi­n, G.Anhbat, N.Bayanbileg, B.Dulguun, N.Erdene, B.Munkhsaikh­an and U.Selenge, who won the third place in the Monte-Carlo Festival held in Monte Carlo, Kingdom of Monaco, will receive an award of 34 million MNT.

• As part of the “Years to Visit Mongolia”, the “Nomad” Culture Festival will be held in August 2023. The compositio­n of the organizing committee of the festival was approved.

• Within the scope of facilitati­ng trade and increasing the export of non-mining products, the government mandated to take measures to create an informatio­n system “Digital Single Window for Foreign Trade” and provide electronic government services related to foreign trade.

• Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Reducing Road Congestion in Ulaanbaata­r J.Sukhbaatar presented the implementa­tion of projects and measures within the framework of reducing traffic congestion. Presentati­ons are being made on this issue at every meeting of the government and measures are being taken.

• Energy Complex Project Unit and Rare Earth Element Research Project Unit were liquidated.
