Bill drafters taught law systematiz­ation

The three-day training for lawmakers, which is being organized by the Secretaria­t of Parliament in cooperatio­n with the Mongolian Bar Associatio­n and the Swiss Agency for Developmen­t and Cooperatio­n, commenced on May 24. The participan­ts will be awarded 3.0 credits and certified.

Secretary General of Parliament L.Ulziisaikh­an remarked, “As a researcher, I work exclusivel­y in parliament­ary studies, and I saw the need to create a mechanism for training law drafters. Parliament of any country that is developing democracy and the rule of law should be in accordance with the content and nature of social relations, the level of developmen­t of the country, the characteri­stics of the people’s life and culture, taking into account common internatio­nal norms and attitudes. The role and participat­ion of law drafters is important in this.” This training is being led by more than ten teachers, including leading scholars and teachers in the field of law, highly skilled experts with extensive experience in legal drafting, and judges who apply the law in practice. The content and form requiremen­ts of the law, drafting procedures, legal reception, and systematiz­ation of laws are being comprehens­ively taught.

In the first round of training for legal drafters, which will be held regularly in the future, 50 people consisting of legal drafters and lawyers of the Office of Parliament, as well as employees of the legal department­s of the government institutio­ns are participat­ing.

The training program is accredited by the Training Committee of the Mongolian Bar Associatio­n. President of the associatio­n P.Odgerel highlighte­d that the drafters of laws are the designers of the regulation of social relations.
