Efficient agriculture promoted
On December 4, Speaker of the Parliament, G.Zandanshatar organized the “New recovery of countryside” conference with the researchers, scientists and the members of Parliament. The Speaker initiated to create the “Association of Herder Families'' (AHF) for herders to cooperate together, transfer the agricultural system into real manufacturer-seller-value added creator-profiteer system and first established it in Bayankhongor and Khentii provinces. G.Zandanshatar gave a speech and introduced the development of the agriculture sector, its issues and the solutions according to the last 30 years of economic change. He highlighted “305,100 Mongolian herders are herding 71.1 million livestock in 110.6 million acre fields. 49.7 percent of working people in our country are in agriculture. In 1990, Mongolia had 26 million livestock; and it increased to 71.2 million in 2022. However, as the number of livestock goes up, the quality of land is becoming atrocious. For example, the weights of a sheep and a cattle are decreased by one to two kilograms and 30 kilograms seperately, and the source of milk and meat is reduced substantially compared to the international status.” He also mentioned that 64 percent of the land is overgrazed, as well as the 13 percent is desertified. Besides the decreasing amount of export products, the policy of herders' social issue and planning of the animal breeding is lost.
Article 58.1 of the Constitution of Mongolia highlighted that ''City, capital, province and district are a function based on the laws, an administration of their control, a territory, an economy and a social complex.” Based on that law, he instituted that “Association of Herder Families” is essential for bolstering the province as the complexity of the economy. This association will have the administration of all members and it will conduct activities with the aim of marketing, finance, insurance and transportation. The vision of this organization is to support high efficient agriculture which is effective for nature and the herders.
Furthermore, there were various speeches such as “Problems to the development of countryside” by the Head of Mongolian National University of Life Science, B.Baasansukh and “The law of agriculture and comparison surveys from some countries” by the senior consultant and the researcher at Parliament's survey and training institution, B.Uurtsaikh, reports the Media and Public Relations Department of the Parliament.
