World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated annually on April 26 to raise awareness about the role of intellectual property (IP) rights in encouraging innovation and creativity. It highlights the importance of protecting intellectual property, which includes inventions, literary and artistic works, trademarks, and designs. This day serves as an opportunity to recognize the contribution of intellectual property to economic development and to promote respect for intellectual property rights globally. Each year, World Intellectual Property Day focuses on a specific theme to address current challenges and opportunities in the field of intellectual property.

IP in Mongolia is protected by various laws and regulations aimed at safeguarding creations of the mind, including inventions, literary and artistic works, trademarks, designs, and other forms of intellectual property. Mongolia is a member of several international treaties and organizations related to IP, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). The country has enacted legislation such as the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, the Law on Patents, the Law on Trademarks, and the Law on Industrial Designs to ensure the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. These laws provide a legal framework for registration, enforcement, and dispute resolution related to intellectual property. In addition, Mongolia has established institutions like the Intellectual Property Office to administer IP rights and facilitate their protection. Overall, the legal and institutional framework for intellectual property in Mongolia aims to encourage innovation, creativity, and economic development while safeguarding the rights of creators and innovators.
