The members of Myanmar’s most loved heavy metal band Iron Cross might be a little greyer after more than two decades in the spotlights, but they still know how to enthrall their audience. The band, formed in 1991 and led by singer Lay Phyu, played an anniversary concert for radio station Cherry FM on January 25 in Yangon's Kandawgyi park. Thousands were in attendance. Iron Cross plays smaller venues too. Reportedly, the band is on a retainer from tycoon U Htay Za to play private concerts for him and his guests when deemed appropriate. Photo: Thet Ko
