Nay Pyi Taw In­vestor Fo­rum to Look at Elec­tion Im­pact on 2016

An in­vest­ment fo­rum will take place in Nay Pyi Taw in the mid­dle of Septem­ber, spon­sored by the busi­ness mag­a­zine Euromoney.

The Euromoney Myan­mar Global In­vest­ment Fo­rum is ex­pected to be at­tended by more than 800 po­ten­tial in­vestors from home and abroad.

Themes to be dis­cussed dur­ing the two-day event Septem­ber 15-16 in­clude Myan­mar’s 2016 busi­ness out­look fol­low­ing the gen­eral elec­tions.

“Myan­mar has wit­nessed a rush of eco­nomic re­forms and for­eign in­vest­ments but the pace has be­gun to slow in an­tic­i­pa­tion of the up­com­ing gen­eral elec­tions,” Euromoney said.

Other top­ics for dis­cus­sion are lib­er­al­is­ing the bank­ing sec­tor, energy needs, nat­u­ral re­sources and min­ing, agri­cul­ture and tourism.
