Myanmar to destroy more than three-month frozen chicken
If imported frozen chicken is frozen for more than three months, it will be destroyed, the state-run newspaper The Global New Light of Myanmar said, citing an announcement by the Livestock and Treatment Department.
“According to the announcement, the samples of imported frozen chicken will be tested at Animal Quarantine Station to check if the chicken have been frozen for over three months. Those overdue frozen chicken will be destroyed without the breeders being compensated,” said the newspaper.
Phyo Min Thein, the Yangon Region Chief Minister, made the decision after he met the chicken breeders in late June.
“He will proceed to submit this matter to the Union government for approval,” said the newspaper.
