2nd an­niver­sary of 2nd Par­lia­ment held in Nay Pyi Taw

The cer­e­mony to mark the sec­ond an­niver­sary of the Sec­ond Par­lia­ment was held on February 1 in Nay Pyi Taw, ac­cord­ing to news re­ports. Dur­ing the oc­ca­sion, State Coun­sel­lor Aung San Suu Kyi said Par­lia­ment is an es­sen­tial in­sti­tu­tion for democ­racy. She also urged the ex­ec­u­tive, leg­isla­tive and ju­di­cial sec­tors to work co­op­er­a­tively as com­rades in the in­ter­ests of the cit­i­zens and the coun­try. First Lady Su Su Lwin, Lower House Speaker Win Myint, Up­per House Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than, Union Chief Jus­tice Htun Htun Oo, Con­sti­tu­tional Tri­bunal of Union Chair­per­son Myo Nyunt, for­mer par­lia­men­tary Speak­ers Thura Shwe Mann and Khin Aung Myint and other rel­e­vant top of­fi­cials at­tended the cer­e­mony.
