Na­tional Wa­ter Re­sources Com­mit­tee or­ga­nizes co­or­di­na­tion meet­ing in Nay Pyi Taw

The co­or­di­na­tion meet­ing of the Na­tional Wa­ter Re­sources Com­mit­tee was held in the meet­ing hall of the Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions in Nay Pyi Taw on Jan­uary 30, re­ported the state-run news­pa­per The Global New Light of Myan­mar. Dur­ing the oc­ca­sion, Myan­mar’s Vice Pres­i­dent Henry Van Thio, also Chair­man of the Na­tional Wa­ter Re­sources Com­mit­tee, said fur­ther at­ten­tion into how the coun­try dis­poses of waste­water should be pri­or­i­tized. “Wa­ter is an es­sen­tial re­source for liv­ing crea­tures and liv­ing things, and all need to pre­vent this re­source from be­com­ing a dan­ger to both due to the con­duct of hu­mans. Em­pha­sis need to be placed on the mat­ter of waste­water dis­posal”, the Vice Pres­i­dent was quoted as say­ing. In 2017, the Na­tional Wa­ter Re­sources Com­mit­tee could suc­cess­fully host the Third Asia-Pa­cific Wa­ter Sum­mit.
