Chambers of Japan and Myanmar sign MoU for economic cooperation
The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Myanmar (JCCM) and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) signed an MoU to boost economic ties and development at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon on February 14, according to news reports. Yangon Region Chief Minister Phyo Min Thein, JCCM chairman Katsuji Nakagawa, UMFCCI chairman Zaw Min Win, Japanese Ambassador Tateshi Higuchi, and other officials attended the ceremony to sign the MoU. The pact aims to boost bilateral trade, investment, information and technology exchange, human resource and infrastructural development. During the ceremony, the JCCM chairman Katsuji Nakagawa said they were eager to cooperate with Myanmar businesses for benefits of the two countries.
