Indo-Myan­mar Cen­ter for Agri­cul­tural Research and Ed­u­ca­tion launched in Nay Pyi Taw

An Indo-Myan­mar Ad­vanced Cen­ter for Agri­cul­tural Research and Ed­u­ca­tion was launched at the Yezin Agri­cul­tural Univer­sity in Nay Pyi Taw, ac­cord­ing to news re­ports. The cen­ter has de­part­ments for ge­netic bi­ol­ogy, post-har­vest ed­u­ca­tion food science and in­creased plan­ta­tion, taught by pro­fes­sion­als from the Indian Agri­cul­tural Research In­sti­tute and Yezin Agri­cul­tural Univer­sity of Myan­mar. The research and ed­u­ca­tion cen­ter was in­au­gu­rated by vis­it­ing Indian Pres­i­dent Ram Nath Kovind on De­cem­ber 12. The Indian Pres­i­dent also opened a rice bio park at the univer­sity, set up by the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foun­da­tion and the Agri­cul­tural Research Depart­ment. The Indian Pres­i­dent’s five-day visit to Myan­mar be­gan on De­cem­ber 10.
