Indo-Myanmar Center for Agricultural Research and Education launched in Nay Pyi Taw
An Indo-Myanmar Advanced Center for Agricultural Research and Education was launched at the Yezin Agricultural University in Nay Pyi Taw, according to news reports. The center has departments for genetic biology, post-harvest education food science and increased plantation, taught by professionals from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute and Yezin Agricultural University of Myanmar. The research and education center was inaugurated by visiting Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on December 12. The Indian President also opened a rice bio park at the university, set up by the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and the Agricultural Research Department. The Indian President’s five-day visit to Myanmar began on December 10.
