Agri­cul­ture in­fra­struc­ture for 100 mil­lion peo­ple has al­ready been built, says USDP chair­man

Union Sol­i­dar­ity and Devel­op­ment Party (USDP) Chair­man Than Htay said that pre­vi­ous suc­ces­sive gov­ern­ments had al­ready built in­fra­struc­ture for agri­cul­ture which could feed 100 mil­lion peo­ple.

“The size and area of our coun­try can feed mil­lions of peo­ple. The pre­vi­ous suc­ces­sive gov­ern­ments have al­ready built in­fra­struc­ture for agri­cul­ture big enough to feed at least 100 mil­lion peo­ple,” USDP Chair­man Than Htay said.

Chair­man Than Htay was speak­ing dur­ing his open­ing ad­dress de­liv­ered at USDP Women Con­fer­ence Day 2 pro­gramme held at party HQ in Naypy­itaw on De­cem­ber 12. He also said that the govern­ment was re­spon­si­ble for build­ing labour in­ten­sive in­dus­try in the coun­try and for cre­at­ing job op­por­tu­ni­ties for un­em­ployed peo­ple as many able­bod­ied male and fe­male job seek­ers were mi­grat­ing to for­eign coun­tries.

This Women Con­fer­ence was held on De­cem­ber 11 and 12 and it was at­tended by USDP Chair­man Than Htay, Vice-Chair­man Myat Hein, party CEC mem­bers and del­e­gates from all States/Regions.
