Myan­mar to hold in­ter­na­tional agri­mach expo

Myan­mar plans to hold an in­ter­na­tional agri­mach expo in Yan­gon early March to dis­play agro equip­ment, lat­est in­no­va­tion in tech­nol­ogy, fer­til­izer and in­put, re­ported the state-run news­pa­per the Global New Light of Myan­mar. The agri­mach expo is sched­uled for March 1 to 3. It will be joined by ex­hibitors from Ja­pan, Italy, Switzer­land, In­dia, China, South Korea and Thai­land, the Myan­mar Paddy Pro­duc­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (MPPA) was quoted as say­ing. These coun­tries will show­case items such as farm equip­ment, value-adding tech­nol­ogy, agro-prod­ucts and in­put, said MPPA, which is the or­ga­nizer of the expo. The aim of the expo is to mark Myan­mar Peas­ants' Day fall­ing on March 2 and help build con­nec­tions with in­ter­na­tional par­tic­i­pants, hold demon­stra­tions, busi­ness-to-busi­ness match­ing and dis­play lat­est agro-based ma­chin­ery, re­ported the news­pa­per. In ad­di­tion, ed­uca­tive talks, and sem­i­nars will be at­tached to the expo. The expo will fea­ture 80 stalls from 40 lo­cal and for­eign com­pa­nies.
