Myan­mar signs 30 in­vest­ment pro­pos­als for Rakhine

Myan­mar re­cently signed 30 pro­pos­als sub­mit­ted by local and for­eign in­vestors for Rakhine state, Xinhua re­ported cit­ing the In­for­ma­tion Min­istry of Myan­mar. About US$ 5.249 bil­lion worth of in­vest­ment pro­pos­als were signed at the re­gional in­vest­ment fair which was held in Rakhine state in Fe­bru­ary. The signed investment­s mainly cover var­i­ous sec­tors in­clud­ing the Rakhine state's ho­tels and tourism sec­tors, agri­cul­ture, energy, live­stock and fish­ery, production, con­struc­tion, and hu­man re­source de­vel­op­ment. Myan­mar gov­ern­ment has been hold­ing re­gional in­vest­ment fairs to in­vite local and for­eign investment­s to pro­mote eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment in the coun­try's re­gions and states. Yan­gon re­gion at­tracts 60 per­cent of investment­s from both home and abroad, fol­lowed by Man­dalay with 30 per­cent, re­ported Xinhua.
