Gale dam­ages houses in Nay Pyi Taw

Agale fol­low­ing heavy rains in Nay Pyi Taw dam­aged houses in Oat­tarathiri Town­ship in Nay Pyi Taw on April 17, ac­cord­ing to state me­dia. The gale dam­aged 152 houses, three Bud­dhist monas­ter­ies and five schools in Ot­tarathiri Town­ship. On April 18, Nay Pyi Taw Coun­cil chair­man Dr. Myo Aung and of­fi­cials pro­vided hu­man­i­tar­ian aid and sup­port to the wind struck vic­tims. They first handed over hu­man­i­tar­ian aid from the Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment De­part­ment which in­cluded Kyat 2,364,800 for rice, house con­struc­tion and 11 res­cue items for 46 houses that were blown down in Nan Chun vil­lage. They also handed over Kyat 920,000 which will be di­vided into K20,000 per house­hold. They also handed over Kyat 2,014,200 from the Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment De­part­ment for pur­chas­ing rice, cov­er­ing house con­struc­tion costs and 11 res­cue items for 29 houses of Ngansat vil­lage, South Zalaung vil­lage and North Salaung vil­lage.
