Lan­cang-Mekong Co­op­er­a­tion (LMC) con­ducts work­shop in Nay Pyi Taw

Mem­bers of the Lan­cang-Mekong Co­op­er­a­tion (LMC) con­ducted a work­shop in Nay Pyi Taw on plan­ning projects on ru­ral de­vel­op­ment and poverty erad­i­ca­tion among them, ac­cord­ing to news re­ports. This is part of the Agri­cul­ture and Poverty Re­duc­tion project un­der the Mekong-Lan­cang Co­op­er­a­tion Spe­cial Fund for the sec­ond batch. The Mekong-Lan­cang Co­op­er­a­tion was set up by the ini­tia­tive of Chi­nese Premier Li Ke­qiang at the 17th ASEAN-China Sum­mit held in Myan­mar in 2014 to boost co­op­er­a­tion in sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment of the Mekong re­gion. The work­shop on Au­gust 28 aimed at draft­ing plans which in­clude ar­rang­ing study tours and shar­ing ex­pe­ri­ences and knowl­edge on ru­ral de­vel­op­ment and poverty alle­vi­a­tion among the LMC coun­tries which com­prise China, Cam­bo­dia, Laos, Myan­mar, Thai­land and Viet­nam.
