Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) conducts workshop in Nay Pyi Taw
Members of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) conducted a workshop in Nay Pyi Taw on planning projects on rural development and poverty eradication among them, according to news reports. This is part of the Agriculture and Poverty Reduction project under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund for the second batch. The Mekong-Lancang Cooperation was set up by the initiative of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the 17th ASEAN-China Summit held in Myanmar in 2014 to boost cooperation in sustainable development of the Mekong region. The workshop on August 28 aimed at drafting plans which include arranging study tours and sharing experiences and knowledge on rural development and poverty alleviation among the LMC countries which comprise China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
