Best spots for breakfast or lunch
Where should you go for breakfast, lunch or a snack? Where the locals go, of course.
Village Café, Swakopmund
At this spot, you get a tin mug, a tin plate and lots of atmosphere. Order a boerekoffie (R36), sweetened with condensed milk, while you consider your options: toasted sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes… If you’re really hungry, try a burger (R32) or a stir-fry wrap (R60). Don’t forget to order a slice of milk tart (R28) – it’s so big it spills over the side of your plate!
Or order one of their “Terminator” sandwiches: fillings include anything from steak and mince to vegetables and fried onions (R65 – R98). Dogs are welcome: Order a Dogfather (a piece of boerewors R14) or the Quarter Hounder (a beef patty R20) for Fluffy.
