KEETMANSHOOP – ||Kharas Director of Education, Arts and Culture, |Awebahe ||Hoeseb has said education service delivery strongly requires unconditional involvement and participation from all stakeholders, including the public and private sectors. ||Hoeseb made the remarks while receiving attire for the ||Kharas Regional Science Team by Anglo-American Namibia Foundation here on Tuesday. The team, which consists of seven learners selected from the 2019 regional science fair that took place last week in Keetmanshoop, is set to participate at the 39th Eskom Expo for Young Scientists International Science Fair in South Africa next month. “If our aim is to provide equitable access to quality education, lifelong learning opportunities and realise quality outcomes we need the participation of parents, caregivers, communities and individuals as well as both the public and private sector,” said ||Hoeseb. He added that as Namibia is besieged by an economic downturn and financial challenges, coupled with a crippling drought, the directorate welcomes the support from the foundation. “The most significant output for your usual support is the fact that the foundation enables the regional team to compete outside the region at national as well as international level in science fairs,” he remarked. Anglo-AmericanNamibiaFoundation coordinator Richard Cook said the foundation will continue to give back to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility. “We are proud to be part of this sponsorship we will continue to support as we have done in the last three years. To the learners, go and make this region proud,” he said.
