Teenager gang-raped, robbed

KATIMA MULILO – A case of rape and robbery was opened at the Katima Mulilo police station last weekend following the rape of a 17-year-old girl by a gang of four unidentifi­ed men.

The girl was reported to have been walking alone from a nightclub on Saturday morning at around 02h00.

According to the police report, it is alleged the 17-year- old victim was walking from the nightclub heading to the old NHE location when unknown four suspects grabbed her and threatened to stab her with knives if she screamed.

According to the police, they then dragged her into the bush and raped her.

“After raping her, the suspects took her shoes and she ran to report the incident to the police but the suspects vanished and are still at large,” stated the police report.

Meanwhile, the Omusati police are investigat­ing the rape of a 16-yearold girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by her father.

Onesi constituen­cy on Thursday around midnight.

The name of the village is withheld to protect the victim.

Accordingt­othecrimei­nvestigati­ons coordinato­r, Moses Simaho, the 39-year-old suspect is alleged to have used physical force to have sexual intercours­e with his daughter without her consent.

Simaho said the suspect was sleeping alone in the room when the father raped her.

The suspect has been arrested and was scheduled to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
