After successfully hosting the Senior Amateur Boxing Championships at Oshakati recently, northern-based boxing stable MTC Kilimanjaro Boxing Club will this weekend be back with more activities.

The boxing club will tomorrow host another event under the headline ‘Movers and Shakers Boxing Bonanza’ at the town of Eenhana in the Ohangwena region and will see some of the country’s top stars returning to the ring.

Among the many fights on offer on fight night is the bout between Immanuel Mungandjela and Edison Hipondoka, who will square off for the welterweight national title over 10 rounds, while Michael Benhard will be in action against Dominikus Weyulu and Julius Sheetheni will confront

Nelson Hango, just to mention a few of the fighters that will be in action tomorrow.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Kilimanjaro Boxing Club chairman Joseph Benhard said preparations have been in full swing and all is well set for tomorrow.

“Yes we are ready for the weekend, preparations have gone very well and our people from MTC are already here to help us get things together. The boxers are also ready for the boxing bonanza. We are expecting boxers to arrive in town by tomorrow (today) and the weigh-in will also be done. I am expecting all boxers to put up a good show come Saturday,” said an excited Benhard.

Benhard added that only a limited number of no more than 200 spectators will be allowed to attend in order to be in line with government’s Covid-19 health rules and regulations.
