Music meets entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship Hub Dololo/DoBox will host what they are promoting as a unique business/entertainment event that will cater primarily to young and innovative entrepreneurs.

The event, dubbed ‘DoMusic’, is set to take place on the 29th of this month at the DoBox offices in Windhoek.

According to Chantal Classen, co-founder of Dololo, the aim behind the event stems from the idea to create a community of people from across different disciplines that share an ambitious but simple common goal for a better Namibia. Classen and her team hope to capitalise on what they call ‘music meets entrepreneurship’, which is a fusion of music and tech of talented performers with the vibrant business community.

“We want to provide a platform for innovative people with high aspirations to meet, be inspired and share ideas on the creative side as much as on the business side,” she said.

According to Classen, they aim to be the epicentre of Namibia’s business ecosystem by empowering young entrepreneurs and connecting them to corporates and investors to solve real-world problems together.

The DoBox team has also partnered with award-winning Hip-hop artist and performer RÖMI to perform before a small, exclusive audience on the night of the occasion.

“When the DoBox team approached me and asked whether I wanted to perform and do an unplugged concert in such an unusual setting, I immediately said yes! I have always loved when things that are not necessarily thought to belong together merge: it brings out innovation and creates magic,” said the rapper, adding that Windhoek needs more of those events.

She added: “I have always worked interdisciplinarily; I have always believed that we need to create more synergies and form unusual partnerships in order to move forward”.

More information on the event can be found on the Dololo DoBox Facebook page.
