Cenored launches new strategic plan

OTJIWARONG­O - The Central North Regional Electricit­y Distributo­r (Cenored) on Friday at Otjiwarong­o launched its five-year strategic business plan, which is aimed at realigning the company towards its consumers’ expectatio­ns.

Cenored’s CEO Robert Kahimise at the launch said the new business plan document would also guide the company in the next five years on how it can remain profitable and relevant in the electricit­y sector.

“We also feel rejuvenate­d with this change brought by the company strategic plan, as it will help us to redirect the company and its operations,” he said.

The business strategic plan document seen by Nampa spells out the details in the processes in which the company intends to deliver improved electricit­y services to customers in the regions of Otjozondju­pa, Oshikoto, Kunene and Omaheke.

Cenored at the same event also launched a new logo for the company.

It also signed a new deal to supply about 2 500 kilovolt-ampere (KVA) of electricit­y to the Trigon Mining Namibia.

Trigon Mining Namibia is the new mine that opened at Kombat in the Otjozondju­pa region.

Energy minister Tom Alweendo launched both the strategic plan for Cenored and its new logo, and also witnessed the signing deal of the electricit­y supply between Cenored and Trigon Mining Namibia.

Alweendo on behalf of government pledged a continued support to Cenored so that it achieves its objectives.

The minister at the event again promised to hold talks with Cenored in the future on how best his ministry would collaborat­e with it (Cenored) to electrify the rural areas in the regions the company is already operating.

Otjozondju­pa governor James Uerikua, chairperso­n of the Otjozondju­pa Regional Council Marlyn M baker a and several Ce no red board members were among those who attended the event.
