Sundowns close in on Tjiueza - reports

- – The South African

Mamelodi Sundowns are reported to be on the verge of signing Namibian international youngster Prins Tjiueza, who is currently based abroad.

Tjiueza is on the books of Kosovo side Liria Prizren, but latest reports seem to suggest that Sundowns are hot on the heels of the 21-year-old winger.

According to SoccerLaduma, Sundowns have been tracking Tjiueza for some time now and have already been involved in extensive transfer talks with his camp. It is also expected that they will try to close the deal at the end of the current campaign.

“I don’t want to say straight away that it is a done deal, but there have been meetings between the player, his representatives and Sundowns. It could as well be between 80% and 90% a done deal as we speak. The player (Tjiueza) also met some Sundowns officials before and after the game against Cameroon, revealed a source to the same publication.

The sources added that it was more than just the player who had met Sundowns officials, but additional members of the Tjiueza family as well.

“Apparently his parents were at Chloorkop and they were there to talk about his move. But let’s wait and see because he is currently playing in Europe and his agent is in Europe. But Sundowns seem to have sealed the deal already with the player,” the source added.

More fuel was added to the fire when Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena was present at the Afcon qualifier between Namibia and Cameroon at the Dobsonville Stadium Tuesday. The tactician had front row seats to witness the goal from his striker Peter Shalulile, who aided his nation in a historic win over their more fancied opponents.
