KBA league intensifie­s

...Falcon edge Dodgers

This past weekend, basketball fans in the capital were treated to some explosive action in the Khomas Basketball Associatio­n (KBA) League.

It all began on Friday night as Atlantic Storms faced Ongos Shooting Stars in a game that ended with Storms winning 82-79, followed by a contest between Unam Penguins and BAS Viking,s in which the Penguins emerged victorious with a 77-55 score.

On Saturday, action continued in the women’s division as Plaza Warriors took on Lions BC in a match that ended with Warriors winning 82-48. Unam Raiders defeated Delta Panthers with a score of 109-60 in an exciting match played at Unam Gym Hall.

Meanwhile, Unam Cadets continued their great form as they edged Team Allies with a score of 74-69.

Unam Rebels, on the other hand, collected maximum points on Saturday as they ran past Nust Blues with an impressive 104-74 scoreline. Unam Wolves also handed a defeat to Quality Basketball Club with a score of 87-72. BAS Falcon defeated Nust Dodgers with a score of 59-56.

In the men’s division, Unam Rebels got the best of Nust Blues with a score of 104-74, while Unam Wolves also claimed a welldeserv­ed 87-72 win against Quality Basketball.

In an interview with this publicatio­n after Saturday’s match, Rachel Tjite of BAS Falcon expressed her satisfacti­on with her team’s overall performanc­e. She noted that the competitio­n in the league is growing more intense each weekend.

“It was a very intense game; we are happy we collected points today, and thanks to my teammates because all this was because of teamwork. However, we managed to collect the much-needed points, and I think the league is getting intense every time we play, but I am also learning a lot this season,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tuyama Muundjua, who plays for Nust Dodgers, shared her thoughts after the match, saying the match went well despite dropping points.

“We played against BAS where we were leading in the first two quarters, but unfortunat­ely, we lost it in the remaining quarters. But I am proud of our performanc­e on the court, and hopefully we bounce back in the next match,” she said.
