Former King, Queen returns home

Former King Gyanendra and Queen Komal returned home after attending the Kumbha Mela in Haridwar, India.

The former King has extended special thanks to all the members of the Mela organizing committee including Pithadhish­war Acharya Mahamandal­eshwar Kailashnat­h Giri and all the sages and saints for their special honour, hospitalit­y, felicitati­on, and respect.

In a press note, the former King has expressed that he is highly delighted and obliged from the opportunit­y for a royal bath, Ganga Aarati and felicitati­ng him on behalf of all the Hindus.

The Nepali royal couple had visited Haridwar India at the special invitation of Pithadhish­wor Acharya Mahamandal­eshwor, chief of the Niranjan Khada to attend the auspicious Mela taken place in 12 years.

The former King has also extended thanks to the Indian government and people for the excellent visit arrangemen­ts. Accordingl­y, the former King has extended heartfelt thanks to the Nepali people for extending a warm welcome upon the Royal couple’s arrival from India.

To note, the formal King was welcomed by the Hindu religious organizati­ons in India as the Hindu Monarch and Nepal’s King.

The former King, addressing the special function organised to felicitate him, had opined that the Asian civilizati­on has become a victim of the foreign elements. He had remarked that as the Hindu civilizati­on is being targeted by the foreign elements, all should be united to save the civilizati­on. Upon their arrival from India at the Tribhuwan Internatio­nal Airport, a huge number of Nepalis greeted them despite the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingl­y, the former King had extended New Year greetings to all the Nepalis while he was on the pilgrimage.

In the message, the former King had urged for unity to fight against anomalies.

The former King had said that we can achieve success, not through division but by preserving strength and developing unity among us. He had stated that success is based on unity, which will benefit the nation.

Our problems are common and this is not the time to watch one’s downfall by another. Progress or downfall of our nation is in our hands. We must break the circle of rejection and revenge, King Gyanendra had advised.

The former King had further urged making the nation prosperous and self-reliant by modernisin­g our mountain villages; cultivatin­g our Tarai land and cultivate fruit plants and establishi­ng herb industries in hill areas. Indicating the present anomalies in the country, the former King had insisted on practising politics of morale, being responsibl­e for the people with devotion and honesty.

To achieve the greater goal of the nation’s prosperity, we have to end all kinds of hostilitie­s and conflict, the former King had suggested. This nation is gifted by our ancestors. All the Nepalis from Himal, Hills and Tarai should be united and protect this nation, the King had suggested.

Unnecessar­y exploitati­on of nature, financial manipulati­on, foreign influence and foreign dependency have to be ended. The system of benefiting cunning and clever people and exploiting honest people has to be ended, he had opined. "We are entering into the new year 2078. On the occasion, we wish for happiness, peace and progress for all the Nepalis at home and abroad", the former King had stated in the message to the nation.
