Save Nepal!

- PR PRadhan pushparajpradhan@gmail.com

Day by day, the country’s political situation is worsening. We are in a very critical phase of history. Our brave ancestors gifted us this beautiful country by shedding their blood and lives. Our ancestors, known to be brave warriors, never surrendered to foreign powers. They had sacrificed their lives for keeping Nepal a sovereign and independent nation. Our ancestors never compromised with the foreign powers, therefore we feel lucky that we never became the slave of any other countries.

The present scenario is different. Our incapable political leaders have already spoiled the nation. They have organised a planned loot in the country making the motherland poor and weak. Our political leaders and foreign powers have already destroyed important institutions essential to run a country. The Nepal Army, an old and brave warrior force has already converted into a ceremonial Army. The police force, civil service sector and other government organs have converted into corrupt institutions. The organs constituted for curbing corruption have become a silent spectator on the daylight and rampant loot. Hundreds of thousands of youths have left the country seeking jobs in foreign countries. The country’s economic scenario is very bleak. On the whole, there left no sector which could give relief and hope for the betterment of the country.

The present political system has already been failed. In other words, the system is breathing with the support of a ventilator. As the Court prescribed wrong medicines, the system has been infected with different diseases and the Court is experimenting one after another medicine making the health of the system more serious. The situation has now become hopeless. We cannot move forward with such a failed system and also with such failed political leaders. There is a strong need to control the totalitarian act of the political leaders. Change is obvious but who to come forward for a change, the question remains unanswered. The general public, who have been frustrated from the present act of the political leaders, are even expecting an Army coup but we don’t see the courage of the Army for initiating a coup. Intellectuals and academicians are publicly speaking in favour of a military coup through different media. They are even demanding for restoration of the institution of monarchy as they believe, the only institution that could save the nation from its demise. Until today, no institution is found dedicated and committed to the nation except for the institution of monarchy. Perhaps, NC’s paramount leader late B.P. Koirala was true to say that no other institution or individuals can be patriotic than the institution of monarchy. He had explained the reason as well.

We need reinstatement of the institution of monarchy to save the nation. We are not alone to say so. The majority of the people believe so. Perhaps, those who are in power and who are involved in rampant loot in the country, want the present system with federalism, republicanism and secularism. Otherwise, those who love the nation, hope for reinstatement of the institution of monarchy to save the nation.

Within the region, we saw the demise of Sikkim. We don’t need to repeat the very story that how the Indians conspired and annexed Sikkim despite the last king Palden Thondup Namgyal’s efforts to save the nation! How Lhendup Dorjee and other leaders betrayed the Sikkim people! How Kashmir, another independent nation lost its identity, still, people there are fighting for freedom. How Afghanistan is bleeding since the demise of the institution of monarchy, we are the specters. If we don’t try to learn lessons from these countries, and if we rely on the present Nepali leaders, who are always serving the foreigners' interests, the demise of this beautiful nation is obvious. To save the nation, we need to restore the institution of monarchy, we need to dispose of the present political system earliest as possible, we need to reorganize important organs including the police force and bureaucracy into a system, we need to suspend all the INGOs/ NGOs serving foreigners' interests and destroying Nepali civilization. We need to build the Nepal Army a strong force. We need an impartial court, we need impartial constitutional bodies.

Earlier, we had effective and functional security policy, foreign policy and sustainable economic policy. We had our own strategies for survival. Since 1990, we have lost everything pushing the nation towards a vulnerable stage. Now, we need to return to the point from where the nation was derailed.
