MCC and SPP: A gamble in Kathmandu

After infiltrating a distant landlocked country, thousands of miles away with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the Americans are now pushing Nepal to join up in its military alliance known as State Partnership Program (SPP) between the Nepal Army and the United States National Guard. Just ahead of the visits of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chief of Army Staff General Prabhu Ram Sharma to the US this issue has triggered a whole new debate. By all means, the Americans are not here for affection or devotedness but, obviously, they are here for the containment of China as SPP is widely believed to be another component of the US' Indo-Pacific Strategy. Since the signing of MCC, Nepal has practically jumped on the wagon of the Americans. With the shrewdness of the Americans, Nepal will eventually be forced to corporate and show commitment of much greater value than the amount of dollars invested in Nepal, be it in containment or even opportunistic strikes. At the recent Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe, made it very clear that his country would fight a war if anyone tried to separate Taiwan from China. Once there is war in the Taiwan Strait, the US will inevitably exercise the MCC and SPP as the operating platform to attack China from east to west, organizing riots using Free Tibet forces or by directly carrying out military operations against China in Nepal. The US strategy against China is open and clear reality rather than a conspiracy, identical to how the US dismembered the Soviet Union and its alliance the US plans to split China into many tiny countries and if it succeeds, the US will do the same with India. The US will never allow the existence of any greater power that might challenge its hegemony. Besides, Nepal lies in a perfect geographical position that can be used to attack both China and India.

Meanwhile, some brainy folks in Kathmandu seem to see the game clearly and firmly supported MCC and SPP, so much as they have even made secret bets. The first bet is on a contest between China and the US, which would result in China losing and being divided into many small countries like Europe, to be slaughtered by the US. The second bet is that in the next India-US encounter, India will lose and will be divided into many small countries like Europe, which will be slaughtered by the US. These folks seems to be all in and betting big for the upcoming hunger games, and they are sincerely looking forward to winning a lot of money by turning to the Americans.

Of course, this is only their wishful thinking at present, I am not so sure if their dreams will ever come true.
