let’s hope for a change!

Although those old and unsuccessful political faces have developed a syndicate for ensuring their victory and enjoying power turn by turn, a group of independent youths have also become active nationwide. The youths have decided to challenge those old “grandpa-aged” leaders. Those youths who studied abroad and have a vision for the nation’s development have suggested outdated leaders take political retirement. In the present era of smart technology, they are utilizing social networks and motivating voters.

Of course, there was the era of buying voters with some bottles of alcohol and two-time food with meat. Those outdated leaders were competing against each other by offering more and more money for the vote. While practising it, they have felt that the present voting procedure has become expensive. To ensure the victory for a member of the House of Representatives, one leader claimed that he had to spend above 70 million rupees. However, those independent youths by spending very little money, have decided to challenge the “grandpa” aged leaders.

One youth, an engineer by profession, who has studied at Oxford University, has decided to challenge Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in his electoral constituency in Dadeldhura. Similarly, the other youths wished to challenge the remaining other leaders comprised of the political syndicate.

The unexpected victory of Balen Shah in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Harka Shampang’s victory in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City and the victory of Gopal Hamal as the mayor of Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan City, among others, have encouraged the youths' team. As those date-expired leaders from different political parties have already seen the threat to them, they are doing their best and also using their political parties to fail those youths elected as the independent candidate in local elections. Money vs creative mind: Those political leaders, who have made politics their profession, are ready to spend money to ensure their victory. On the other hand, those youths having the vision and creative minds, have come to challenge their “grandpa” aged politicos. It is said that they have targeted a dozen of outdated leaders who have enjoyed the prime minister and minister’s post time and again but failed to introduce good governance.

Cleaning the political garbage:

To what extent the independent youths are going to get success in their noble move, it is premature to predict, however, their honest attempt for cleaning the political garbage is a work to commend.

Some political analysts believe that if a dozen honest people will appear to lead the nation and if a dozen of those outdated leaders will disappear forever, the political garbage could be cleaned.
