Hopeless politics

-

The nation is going to vote for the new representatives of the federal parliament and province council on 20 November. No doubt, elections are going to be held on the said date but we are going to elect the same old faces who have already been proved as unsuccessful politicos. No odd, these old faces have already become unpopular and they have already been proved as liars and cheaters among the voters. When saw sure defeat in the election, they have become united and developed a five-party syndicate for ensuring their victory. Moreover, the very people who will surely defeat if contested election without developing an electoral alliance with other political parties are claiming the prime ministerial position. Today’s Nepali politics is not based on political ethics, values, morale, and party principles but it is based on sharing power by developing syndicates and organising a planned daylight loot. A setting has been developed for organizing such a daylight loot. The constitutional organs curbing such loot and mal-governance have already been defunct. In the process of developing syndicates, the political parties having adverse political principles have joined hands in the name of strengthening the present system. Surely, the political leaders have already institutionalized corruption and they want to give continue rampant corruption in their next tenure as well. Those nation-loving people, who want a change in the present political system to save their motherland and make the nation prosperous have fallen into the minority due to the political syndicate exploiting the general public. Yes, we cannot hope for anything better from the result of the 20 November elections. We will get the same set of people as people’s representatives for home, politics is a fertile business ensuring 100 percent profit without an investment of a single rupee. When the punishment mechanism becomes functionless and those big looters remain above the laws of the nation, the trend of such organized loot will flourish further. We are going to see the same picture as today even after the 20 November elections. Day by day, the nation is becoming weak. The economy is the mirror for measuring the nation’s strength. In this regard, as political loot continues, the country is obviously heading toward achieving the status of a failed nation. When the country’s international revenue is not enough for managing funds for operating provinces and local bodies, the state should seek foreign debt. In the past five years, the country’s debt amount has become double. This trend is going to continue in the upcoming years as well. When we spend all the revenue just for feeding those “people’s representatives”, we lack funds for development projects. Until and unless we remain unable to manage the revenue structure, it is impossible to bring the economy on a proper track. Imposition of taxation on consumers and commoners alone is not the solution. In conclusion, we cannot hope for the better of the country from the present system which is for the political leaders, by the political leaders and of the political leaders. After all, the demise of the present system is obvious. Any delay in scrapping the present system is just a waste of time. However, we are hopeful that yet another revolution is in the offing to save the nation.
