Pakistan Embassy observes national day
Kathmandu, March 23: On the occasion of the 84th National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu today. Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi hoisted the national flag of Pakistan. Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion.
In his message, Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan recalled the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices of the forefathers in achieving an independent state for Muslims. He reflected on the past achievements and prayed for the end of subjugation and worse brutalities on Kashmiri and Palestinian brethren. Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended felicitations to Pakistanis at home and abroad on ‘Pakistan Day’. In his messages, he expressed the resolve of the nation to overcome the multifold challenges including inflation and terrorism and make Pakistan a trivet of peace, progress and stability.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar greeted Overseas Pakistanis and urged the compatriots to continue to excel in their chosen fields, vocations and enterprises; for their success, achievement and excellence lie the country’s development and progress. In the comity of nations, Pakistan has distinguished itself by standing for the supremacy of the UN Charter and international law, he stated.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hashmi recalled the determination and resolution of Muslims in 1940 and the continuation of the struggle to make Pakistan prosperous. He greeted the guests and highlighted key aspects of the close PakistanNepal relationship and endeavours being made by the Mission for further strengthen this bond.
The Pakistani community in Nepal, friends of Pakistan and officials of the Embassy, and their families attended the ceremony.
