Former King urges for a new deal to save nation

-

Kathmandu, April 6: Former King Gyanendra, who was felicitated by locals at a civic reception ceremony organized in Khalang, Jumla district, has urged the Nepali nationals to be aware of the worst situation in the country.

“Let’s correct ourselves, let’s be aware of the situation! Let's develop a national consensus; let’s correct the path; let’s make a new deal; let's make a new dialogue; let's make new talks, and let’s reach a conclusion by holding an all-sector conference”, King Gyanendra said. Addressing a huge gathering of people in Khalanga, the King said, “You know where the country is heading towards today. Despite our immense wealth, we are moving towards interdependence. Our geography is very rich. There is immense wealth inside but we have wandered to eat and to find work. What is not in Kalikot, Mugu, Humla, and Dolpa?, yet, we are wandering.”

“Now let's get together to return the old glory of the nation, stand up to make the country and let’s be prepared to stand on our feet and arms,” the former King said.

“Due to the difficulty of transportation, the complexity of the climate, the difficulty of economic means and the lack of awareness, Jumla has not been able to make proper use of labor and resources. The state should emphasize the proper use of the region's rich heritage,” the King remarked.

"The situation of going abroad and facing different kinds of trouble in foreign countries should be ended," he said. The King also recalled Jumla a center of ancient civilization and Nepali nationalism, language, religion and culture.
