Miserable scenario

-

A large number of the youth force has already left the country, either seeking a job or seeking a better future. The trend of youths going abroad is increasing. It seems, there will be only senior citizens and an underage population in the country.

Ministers, by showing an increase in foreign currency reserve in the central bank, are claiming that the country’s economy is performing better, the reality is that the government revenue has declined and is unable to meet the general sector expenditure. The government is continuously borrowing debt to meet its expenditures. Every month, the debt burden is increasing and now the government is under compulsion to take debts to pay back the instalments and interests of the previous debts.

The economy is passing through a serious recession. Commercial banks are facing the problem of excessive liquidity reserve, on the other hand, the industrialists are not interested in investing in industries after a decline in the demand for their products in the market. The rate of unseen capital flight has inclined enormously. Meanwhile, the brain drain trend has also inclined.

Political leaders are just doing the politics of conspiracy and the politics of grabbing power either by hook or by crook. They are not bothered about the country’s worst economic situation. They don’t have a vision for building the nation, except to think about their personal gains. They are working for the foreigners’ interests by receiving foreign funding or getting scholarships for their kids. Due to the wrong handling of foreign policy, the country has already lost the geopolitical balance. It is sure, that soon, Nepal is inviting a multiple crisis.

The party workers cannot think and speak against the party leadership independently and are no more than the slaves of those supreme leaders of the “democratic” parties. The supreme leaders are involved in big corruption scams but there is no authority to investigate such big scams. Even if the corruption files are opened, the political leaders are shamelessly getting clean chit, whereas, senior bureaucrats are blamed for being responsible.

The bureaucracy, the police force, the educational sector, and all the important organs needed to function in a nation have been massively politicized and destroyed. There is no hope for any significant achievement that the country is going to gain under this system and those political leaders. Thus far, change is obvious and very soon it needs to occur.
