Salam Air starts Mus­cat-Kath­mandu flight

IME Group has in­tro­duced Salam Air's di­rect flight Mus­cat-Kath­man­duMus­cat sched­uled flight. This in­ter­na­tional ex­pan­sion of Salam Air will be lo­cally han­dled by IME In­ter­na­tional Travel Pvt. Ltd., a travel sub­sidiary of IME Group. Salam Air is the first bud­get car­rier of Oman and has started its com­mer­cial op­er­a­tion since Jan­uary 2017 mak­ing Mus­cat as its main hub. It oc­cu­pies 5 air­craft cur­rently: all 174seater Air­bus 320 and flies to 15 des­ti­na­tions in­clud­ing Mus­cat, Salalah, Suhar, Dubai, Doha, Jed­dah, Karachi, Mul­tan, Sialkot, Shi­raz, Tbil­isi, Baku, as well as newly in­tro­duced Dhaka, Khar­toum and Na­jaf. Kath­mandu is its 16th in­ter­na­tional des­ti­na­tion and the di­rect flights be­tween Kath­mandu and Mus­cat will ba­si­cally cater the Nepalese im­mi­grants who are trav­el­ling to and from Mus­cat, Oman and on­ward to other coun­tries of the Mid­dle East and Asia at the most af­ford­able price. Ad­di­tion­ally, the tourists who are mak­ing Mus­cat as their tran­sit, will also greatly ben­e­fit. Cur­rently, Salam Air will make four flights in a week and hope to soon the add fre­quency to make it a daily flight. Speak­ing at the Press Meet or­ga­nized at Trib­hu­van In­ter­na­tional Air­port, Chan­dra Prasad Dhakal, Vice Pres­i­dent of FNCCI and IME Group's Chair­man stated that the flight will re­duce the cost of the for­eign em­ploy­ment for each em­ployee of­fer­ing the most af­ford­able flight ticket. CEO of Salam Air Cap­tain Mo­hamed Ahmed stated that the flight will con­trib­ute to the coun­try's eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment. Salam Air has launched its fre­quent flyer pro­gram ‘More on Air' re­cently which al­lows pas­sen­gers who fly over 10 times a year to sub­mit their board­ing passes col­lected within one year of travel and re­ceive a free Salam Air ticket to any of its des­ti­na­tions. Ad­di­tion­ally, the pas­sen­gers in its in­au­gu­ral flight will get 50 dis­count in Chan­dra­giri Ca­ble Car tick­ets. In the fu­ture, all Salam Air pas­sen­gers can get a 25 dis­count in Chan­dra­giri Ca­ble Car tick­ets. Ad­di­tion­ally, the com­pany will launch re­demp­tion plan to give ad­di­tional val­ues to its pas­sen­gers.
