CoAS Gen Thapa highlights excellent relations between Nepal and Pakistan Army
Chief of Army Staff Gen. Purnachandra Thapa has described excellent relations between the Nepal Army and Pakistan Army since establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Pakistan. At a reception hosted on the occasion of the Defence Day of Pakistan on 21 September in Kathmandu, GoAS Gen Thapa extending congratulations to the Pakistan Army, said that relations between the armies of Pakistan and Nepal have reflected the exception friendship of the two countries. "Our armies have been enjoying professional exchanges and bilateral military cooperation at the optimum level.
Consequently, we have been standing shoulder to shoulder in the international arena as UN peace keepers be in Congo or Darfur," CoAS Gen Thapa said. On the occasion, Pakistan's ambassador Dr. Mazhar Javed said that the recent high level visits by the armies of the two countries had been the strongly important component of overall bilateral relations of the nations. Gen Thapa was the chief guest at the reception attended by political personalities, Nepali Army officers, diplomats and media personnel.
