Pres­i­dent Bhan­dari on Qatar visit

Pres­i­dent Bidya Devi Bhan­dari is now on an of­fi­cial visit to Qatar. She had flown to Qatar on Mon­day at the friendly in­vi­ta­tion of the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. She was greeted in Qatar by the Min­is­ter of Ad­min­is­tra­tive Devel­op­ment, Labour and So­cial Af­fairs, Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali alNuaimi, the am­bas­sador of Qatar to Nepal, Yousuf bin Mo­hamed al-Hail and Nepal's am­bas­sador to Qatar Ramesh Prasad Koirala. Dur­ing the Pres­i­dent's visit, Nepal and Qatar were sched­uled to sign sev­eral MoUs, open­ing many ar­eas for more growth and devel­op­ment, es­pe­cially in en­ergy, in­vest­ment and trade be­tween the two coun­tries. The Pres­i­dent's en­tourage com­prises For­eign Min­is­ter Pradeep Ku­mar Gyawali; sec­re­tary at the Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs, Shanker Das Bairagi; sec­re­tary at the Of­fice of Pres­i­dent, Binod KC;Nepal In­vest­ment Board's chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Maha Prasad Adhikari and Pres­i­dent's chief pri­vate sec­re­tary Bhesh Raj Adhikari, among oth­ers. Vice Pres­i­dent Nanda Ba­hadur Pun bid farewell to the Pres­i­dent at the VVIP lounge of Trib­hu­van In­ter­na­tional Air­port (TIA). Na­tional Assem­bly's chair Ganesh Tim­ilsina, Speaker of House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Kr­ishna Ba­hadur Ma­hara, mem­bers of the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters, Chief Sec­re­tary Lok Dar­shan Regmi, govern­ment sec­re­taries, and chiefs of se­cu­ri­ties bod­ies were at TIA to see off the Pres­i­dent. The Pres­i­dent will re­turn home on Thurs­day.
