Harvest

Pick snow peas when the pods are still firm and flat. Peas for podding are ready to harvest when the pods are plump and shiny.

• To clear space for summer crops, make sauerkraut from your last cabbages.

• Add homegrown herbs such as chives, mint, oregano, parsley and wild rocket to store-bought salad greens.
