Spring weather is notoriousl­y unsettled. Don’t rush to plant summer-loving seedlings of basil, beans, capsicums, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons or zucchini outdoors just yet. They’ll simply sulk in cold soil, retarding their growth. Wait until Labour Weekend, when the risk of late frosts has passed.
