Prepare your garden for the festive season

by planting potted colour and trimming the edges of your lawn. Then lay mulch to conserve soil moisture; install an irrigation timer; move potted plants into the shade; trim hedges and deadhead roses; and pick any crops nearing maturity before you head off for the holidays.
