Don’t judge me, but I’ve had an unforgivable hiatus from Homeland. I’ve no idea why, because I’ve loved every single episode. To rectify this horrifying situation I recently threw myself back into it, re-entering the fray at Episode 1, Season 4. I haven’t stopped watching it since and as Season 7 has now started on SoHo, it seems timely to remind you all that there is a reason why this show has won five Golden Globes and a swathe of Emmys. Our bipolar CIA anti-hero Carrie Mathison and her enablers Saul and Quinn keep me glued to the screen frame after frame, hour after hour, the twists and turns of global politics reflected in their personal ones. It’s all just excellent television.
