About the author
Kali Napier, 41, is a single mum-of-two living in Brisbane. She was born in Sydney, brought home from the hospital “zipped up inside my dad’s leather jacket”. When she was eight weeks old, “we left for Thailand by boat”. From there Kali and her parents roamed the globe, crossed the Sahara Desert by motorbike and eventually, when Kali was eight, settled in Perth. Kali worked as an anthropologist in Bangladesh and an Aboriginal family history researcher for the Queensland government before writing her first novel.
