UTI BREAKTHROUGH

Australian microbiologist Dr Matthew Sullivan has provided fresh hope for suffers of urinary tract infections (UTIs) after he uncovered a genetic regulator that controls the severity of UTI streptococcal disease. The discovery is a major step forward in understanding the disease, which affects up to 40 per cent of women at least once in their lifetime.
