Red wine may have yet another health benefit, although this one does not involve drinking the wine. Tammy Dugas, a US university professor in Comparativ­e Biomedical Sciences, has found it beneficial in treating heart disease. She has discovered that two antioxidan­ts in red wine – resveratro­l and quercetin – can be utilised during coronary angioplast­y to promote healing, reduce inflammati­on and help prevent blood clotting.
