Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - THE ROYAL WEDDING -

The wed­ding cake was cre­ated by Claire Ptak. It com­bined a light sponge and el­der­flower syrup made at The Queen’s res­i­dence in San­dring­ham from the es­tate’s own el­der­flower trees. The fill­ing was made from Ital­ian Amalfi lemon curd and el­der­flower but­ter­cream, and the cake was dec­o­rated with Swiss meringue but­ter­cream and 150 fresh, sea­sonal flow­ers, mostly from Bri­tain, in­clud­ing pe­onies and roses.
