There’s in­creased pub­lic in­ter­est around bariatric surgery (also known as a gas­tric sleeve or lap-band surgery). It’s gen­er­ally only avail­able to peo­ple with a BMI over 40, or over 35 with obe­sity-re­lated prob­lems. It should only be con­sid­ered if you’ve made a sus­tained ef­fort to lose weight and your obe­sity is threat­en­ing your health.
