Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - COVER STORY -

For their final day in New Zealand, the clouds parted and the royals finally got a gorgeous sunny day in Rotorua, with international media stating that the city had “stolen the show”. Harry led the Te Aroha waiata at Te Papaiouru Marae, his once-timid te reo pronunciation now strong and confident. The final stop on the royals’ 16-day Australasian tour was a visit to the Redwoods Treewalk in Rotorua. After walking along the elevated pathways in Whakarewarewa Forest, the couple walked through the area at ground level (far right), stopping at a lookout to admire a picturesque blue pool ringed by ponga ferns. It was a beautiful and scenic end to their tour, and the pair seemed wistful about leaving. As he and Meghan left the forest, Prince Harry was heard telling locals, “Bye guys, enjoy this heaven.”
