To safely acquire some summer colour that lasts several days, try a fake tan or a gradual tanning product. Make sure you scrub with a non-oily exfoliator first, to remove dead skin cells and create a smooth canvas. Always shave or wax and exfoliate at least 24 hours before tanning and smooth the product, be it a foam or cream, on with a tanning mitt so it spreads evenly and won’t stain your hands. For tanning mishaps on small areas such as knuckles, apply a small amount of whitening toothpaste and rub with a warm, damp flannel until you’ve buffed off what you need to.
