Do you have an on-trend colour forecast for 2019? Will it be the year millennial pink moves over and introduces another star colour…? Personally, I’m a huge fan and hope it lives on! Here are a few thoughts on what we can expect to see through 2019. Shades of pink will lighten or have tones of peach as opposed to the previous dusky pink. Expect to see deep, moody tones – inky blues, earthen greys, rich greens. Also soft lemon yellow. Burnished reds will become a versatile colour to complement and balance various shades. Bright marine blues for those wanting something a little extra. White interiors will still be in hot demand as will different tones of greys. For inspiration, pick up a Resene Range Fashion fandeck 2020 from your local Resene ColorShop. For the ultimate summer vibe, what is your go-to colour palette and/or inspiration? My colour obsessions coming into the warmer months are all leaning towards earthy, muddier tones as opposed to bright, clear tones. The standout colours for me are Resene Sunbaked, Resene Shabby Chic, Resene Rivergum and Resene Thumbs Up. To create your own summer palette, try experimenting with Resene colour charts, testpots and fandecks or gather inspiration by creating your very own mood board via the Habitat by Resene look book. Have fun – colour doesn’t have to be scary!
