WHALE WATCHING

During our early October visit we were lucky enough to spot whales while on our morning beach walks. We hadn’t realised that the Gold Coast was known as “humpback highway” from June until around November, when humpback whales migrate from Antarctica, putting on spectacular shows just offshore. There are viewing spots on land, or if you want to get up close take one of the many whale watching tours.

If you have kids in tow, Movieworld is a must. Thrilling rides, famous film characters to photograph, and plenty of parades and shows. Go early and plan to spend the day.
